HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The nightmare on Solar Drive continues.
Comedian Pauly Shore has filed a countersuit against his neighbor, "Nightmare on Elm Street" director Wes Craven, alleging a landslide on his Hollywood Hills property in December 2006 was caused by Craven's failure to properly maintain vegetation and landscaping on his hillside.
The claim, which was filed Feb. 11 in Los Angeles Superior Court, comes eight months after Craven filed suit against Shore, making essentially the same allegations of negligence. Craven's suit alleged that Shore upgraded his property with a pool, spa, landscaping and other improvements, allowing water to infiltrate the director's property and cause slope failure.
Both maintain that they have suffered emotional distress because of the damage to their homes.
Each lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages and a judgment determining who should be held responsible.
