HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Oprah Winfrey has regained her crown.
The media mogul ranked No. 1 on the 2010 Forbes Celebrity 100 list, the magazine announced Tuesday. She regained the top spot after slipping into second place last year behind actress Angelina Jolie, who fell to No. 18 in this year’s ranking of the world’s top entertainment figures.
According to Forbes, Winfrey earned a cool $315 million over the last 12 months. She outlasted Beyoncé Knowles, who finished second after raking in $87 million over the past year.
Director James Cameron finished third in the power rankings thanks to the success of his blockbuster film Avatar. The sci-fi epic earned $2.7 billion to become the highest-grossing film ever.
Newcomer Lady Gaga came in fourth place with an estimated $62 million in earnings, largely because of a 106-date tour. She was followed by embattled golfer Tiger Woods, who came in No. 5 during a year rocked by his infidelity.
Late-night host Conan O’Brien and Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart joined Lady Gaga in making the list for the first time. Among those falling off the latest rankings were actor Will Smith and rapper 50 Cent.
The Forbes Celebrity 100 is a measure of power based on money and fame. Earnings estimates, which include income from films, television shows, endorsements, books and other entertainment ventures, are calculated between June 2009 and June 2010.
