PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — The stars stepped out Tuesday night as the awards season picked up steam at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala.
Among the stars honored at the 21st annual event were Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Mariah Carey, Marion Cotillard, Quentin Tarantino and Jason Reitman.
“I’m trying really hard not to cry,” Precious director Lee Daniels told reporters on the red carpet. “How do you make a movie for $2 and end up here? It’s out-of-body right now.”
Entertainment Tonight host Mary Hart hosted the black tie gala, which kicked off the annual film festival scheduled to run through Jan. 18.
