HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Phil Collins has taken another hit at the bank.
The 57-year-old pop star has finalized his divorce with Orianne Cevey, who will receive a record-breaking cash settlement of $46.76 million, according to the U.K’s Daily Mirror. The amount is the highest cash payout in British history, topping Paul McCartney’s settlement with Heather Mills earlier this year by nearly $2 million.
Collins married the 35-year-old Cevey in 1999. They have two sons together — 8-year-old Nicholas and 4-year-old Matthew.
This is the third divorce for Collins, whose past relationships have proven to be costly. According to the Daily Telegraph, his failed marriages have cost him $84 million, which is nearly a third of his estimated $280 fortune.
Collins first married Canadian Andrea Bertorelli in 1975. The couple, who met in a London drama class, divorced in 1980 after Bertorelli had a reported affair. They had one son together, Simon. Collins also adopted Bertorelli’s daughter from a previously relationship, Joelyi.
The “You Can’t Hurry Love” singer was also married to Jill Tavelman, who received a $34 million divorce settlement after their 12-year marriage ended in 1996. Collins and Tavelman had one daughter together, up-and-coming star Lily Collins.
