HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Minnie Driver has a secret and she’s apparently not ready to kiss and tell.
The 38-year-old singer-actress, who announced she was expecting for the first time in March, has again refused to reveal the father of her baby.
“I want to shield the baby’s dad as much as I can because it wasn’t his choice to get roped into all this stuff,” she told the U.K.’s Independent Thursday.
Driver, who is in the U.K. promoting her second album, “Seastories,” said that her pregnancy was “unplanned” but “very happily received.”
“It’s something I’ve wanted to do my whole life; I can’t believe I’ve waited this long,” she admitted.
The star of FX’s “The Riches” does provide a few hints about who the father is, saying that he is English and “sort of in the same business.” Driver also shot down several tabloid reports that the mystery man is San Francisco musician Craig Zolezzi.
“Craig’s not the dad!” she said. “He’s my great friend, and he’s been so cool about it.”
Driver also doesn’t appear to be heading down the altar anytime soon, telling the British newspaper, “It’s not important to me. I don’t think a piece of paper lends itself to the idea of being a good parent and I want to be a good parent.”
As for when we might expect to discover the big secret?
“It’ll come out in time,” she said. “there’ll be some other bump people will be interested in and I’ll have this baby and get on with my life.”
