NEW YORK — Was Rachel Zoe snubbed by the organizers of Monday’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City?
According to a report by Fashionweekdaily.com, the fashion stylist was invited by Brian Atwood to sit at his Bally table, but somewhere along the lines, Zoe was dropped from the star-studded attendee list.
The reasoning behind the snub could have something to do with a controversial comment Zoe reportedly made about Anna Wintour earlier this year, in which she is said to have claimed to be more “influential” than the Vogue editor.
“I was invited by Brian Atwood but wasn’t planning on going anyway because of my filming schedule and commitments to clients,” Zoe explained to Fashionweeklydaily.com through her spokesman.
Over the years, Zoe has dressed the likes of such stars as Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Garner.
Monday’s “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy” event at the Met featured several Zoe clients and a celebrity list that included the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Beyoncé Knowles, Eva Longoria, George Clooney and Hilary Duff, among others.
