NEW YORK — Alec Baldwin was rushed to a New York City hospital early Thursday after falling ill at his West Side Manhattan apartment, WNBC News reports.
Medics responded to the 51-year-old actor's home after receiving a 911 call. Sources told the local NBC affiliate that it was Baldwin's 14-year-old daughter Ireland (his only child with ex-wife Kim Basinger) who made the call, saying he was "unresponsive" after "possibly taking pills."
Baldwin agreed to go to nearby Lenox Hill Hospital, where he was treated and released after about an hour, WNBC said.
"This was a misunderstanding on one person's part," the 30 Rock star's spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, told WNBC. "Alec was quickly released from the hospital, he's completely fine and will be at work today."
Baldwin is due to co-host the Academy Awards next month with Steve Martin.
