HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Lindsay Lohan will be charged in the grand theft case involving an expensive necklace, TMZ reports.
The actress is accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, Calif. jewelry store on Jan. 22.
Detectives obtained a warrant on Tuesday to search Lohan’s home in Venice, but before they could, the necklace was returned to the police.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office may file the felony grand theft charges as early as Monday, sources told TMZ.
If convicted, the Mean Girls star faces up to three years in state prison.
Lohan, 24, is currently on probation for a DUI conviction. The judge overseeing her case previously warned the starlet that any probation violations would result in additional jail time.
