SALISBURY, Conn. — Actor Rip Torn was arrested Friday night after he broke into a Connecticut bank, the Associated Press reports.
Police say the 78-year-old Men in Black star was intoxicated when they discovered him inside Salisbury’s Litchfield Bancorp with a loaded revolver.
Torn, who lives in Salisbury, was booked on charges including burglary and possession of a firearm without a permit. He is being held on $100,000 bond and is scheduled for a Monday appearance in Bantam Superior Court, AP said.
It is the latest legal hurdle for Torn, who has been arrested several times in recent years for drunken driving. Last year, he received probation stemming from a Connecticut conviction that required him to enter an alcohol education program.
Torn, who won an Emmy for The Larry Sanders Show, has most recently had a recurring role on the NBC hit 30 Rock.
