HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Sarah Jessica Parker is beaming over motherhood after welcoming twin babies through a surrogate in June.
“I love the smell of diapers,” the Sex and the City star tells the December issue of Elle magazine. “I even like when they’re wet and you smell them all warm liked a baked good. I love the smell of Balmex. Love it.”
Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, welcomed their twin daughters, Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge, on June 22. The babies were born in Ohio via a surrogate mother after Parker says she and her husband explored several different options for expanding their family, which also includes 7-year-old son, James Wilkie.
“I knew there would be lots of opinions about, ‘Well, why didn’t you adopt? Why didn’t you do this? Why didn’t you do that?’ and the truth of the matter is, it wasn’t one or the other for us,” she explains to the mag. “We had explored, and continue to explore all options, and this one just happened first. This isn’t the period at the end of the sentence.”
Parker is currently balancing motherhood with shooting on her Sex and the City movie sequel. She also continues to dismiss friction on the set with co-star Kim Cattrall.
“I don’t think anybody wants to believe that I love Kim. I adore her,” Parker says. “I wouldn’t have done the movie without her. Didn’t and wouldn’t.”
