NEW YORK — Move over Jon & Kate, here comes Sarah Palin.
The former governor's upcoming eight-part documentary series about her home state of Alaska will air on TLC, the network's parent company, Discovery Communications, announced Thursday.
The series, currently titled Sarah Palin's Alaska, will be executive produced by Emmy-award winner Mark Burnett of Survivor and Apprentice fame, who returns to Discovery after co-producing Eco-Challenge on the network in the late '90s.
"With a dynamic personality that has captivated millions, I can't think of anyone more compelling than Sarah Palin to tell the story of Alaska," said Burnett. "I'm thrilled to reunite with Discovery on this project, which brings together one of the most fascinating figures of our time with one of the most wondrous places on earth."
"Our family enjoys Discovery's networks," added the former Republican Vice Presidential nominee. "I look forward to working with Mark to bring the wonder and majesty of Alaska to all Americans."
A premiere date for the documentary has yet to be revealed.
Discovery reportedly won a bidding war for the series over A&E Networks.
