HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Selena Gomez is repeating her stance that she is not dating “Twilight” hunk Taylor Lautner.
“He’s a great guy. But I am 100 percent single, and I’m going to keep it that way for a while,” the 17-year-old actress reveals in the September issue of Seventeen.
The pair have been linked ever since April when they were first spotted together in Vancouver, Canada. Both young stars were in town shooting different movie projects, with Gomez filming “Ramona and Beezus” and the 17-year-old Lautner at work on the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon.”
“Kristen [Stewart] was staying in my hotel,” Gomez explains of Lautner’s “Twilight” co-star. “He would visit her, so we were constantly running into each other in the lobby — and we ended up meeting.”
“We would go out to lunch and dinner, but I knew he had paparazzi following him and I had paparazzi following me,” continues Gomez. “So we literally just wanted to hang out, go bowling and stuff, and it went a little too far, I think. People were getting a little crazy about us.”
While Gomez and Lautner are no longer together, the “Wizards of Waverly Place” star has plenty of happy memories.
“It was fun,” she says. “I went to Vancouver thinking I was going to focus on my work, but instead I got to meet him, and it ended up being the best thing ever.”
“He is so sweet. Taylor has made me so happy. I didn’t know I could be that happy,” she adds. “You probably see it in the pictures! I’m smiling so big.”
