HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Shakira will soon be shaking her hips on television.
The 32-year-old Latin singer has signed on for a guest role on ABC’s “Ugly Betty, where she’ll star as herself on an upcoming episode titled “The Bahamas Triangle,” People reports.
“We’re huge fans of Shakira,” the show’s creator, Silvio Horta, tells the mag. “We had a very memorable moment in the third episode where Betty has a makeover that goes wrong and she struts down the street to ‘Hips Don’t Lie.’ We’ve mentioned her several times over the course of the series and have always wanted to work with her. She’s an enormous Latina icon, as is Betty, and we thought it was a perfect fit.”
Shakira’s third English album, “She Wolf,” drops in the U.S. on Oct. 13.
