HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Rumors continue to swirl that Shaquille O’Neal’s impending divorce may have been caused by an affair with Laura Govan, the fiance of Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas.
According to Young, Black & Fabulous, Shaq and Govan have been mixing it up for at least five years. Making matters worse, Govan is said to be a friend of O’Neal’s soon-to-be ex-wife, Va’shaundya “Shaunie” O’Neal, who filed for a legal separation Monday in Los Angeles.
The gossip site posted several alleged e-mails between Shaq and Govan, including one exchange where she acknowledges that her relationship with the 37-year-old center’s wife has changed.
“I spoke with Jackie n we almost fist fought cuz she started asking me about u n my relationship,” the message reads. “I know she spoke to Shaunie n told her a lot of stuff that wasent true. Shaunie seemed totally different towards me afterwards! But that’s not my main concern I know you never tell are business….So I’m not worried!”
The O’Neal’s, who tied the knot on Dec. 26, 2002, have four children together.
Arenas and Govan, meanwhile, are expecting their third child together next month.
