ATLANTA — Kristian Bush and Jennifer Nettles of the country duo Sugarland have settled a lawsuit brought on by founding member Kristen Hall.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten signed a court order Friday recognizing the settlement, which was reached just ahead of a trial scheduled to begin today, according to the Associated Press.
Both sides have until Dec. 13 to finalize the terms of the agreement, which were not disclosed.
Hall sued her former bandmates in 2008, three years after leaving Sugarland to pursue a solo career. The singer claimed she was entitled to a third of the band's profits — a figure her lawyers estimated to be at least $14 million.
Hall argued that in addition to forming the band, she played a major role in Sugarland's debut album, 2004's Twice the Speed of Life.
Sugarland picked up their fourth Vocal Duo of the Year Award at last week's CMA Awards in Nashville.
