HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Juliette and The Licks will be among the music artists at the first annual Sunset Strip Music Festival to be held this summer in Hollywood, organizers have revealed.
The inaugural event will be held June 26-28 at several famous music venues along the Sunset Strip, including the Roxy Theatre, the Whisky A-Go-Go, the House of Blues, the Viper Room and the Cat Club.
Juliette and The Licks is fronted by actress Juliette Lewis. The band released its first EP, “Like a Bolt of Lightning,” in 2004.
Other artists confirmed for the festival include Hot Hot Heat, Louis XIV, the 88, Dilated Peoples, Godhead and B Real of Cypress Hill. Event organizers are also in the process of finalizing more performers to be added to the bill.
An opening night party, hosted by Mark McGrath at the House of Blues, will kick things off. The evening will feature a concert tribute to club owners Lou Adler, Mario Maglieri and Elmer Valentine, who were key figures during the Strip’s glory years in the 1960s.
On the final night, there will be an exclusive panel discussion led by CNN’s Larry King at the brand new London West Hollywood Hotel.
The event was created to celebrate the Strip’s rich musical history, which has showcased such artists over the years as Janis Joplin, the Doors, Van Halen, Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mötley Crüe, Prince, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen and the Police.
