‘Survivor’ Production Not Affected by Samoa Earthquake

APIA, Samoa — A powerful earthquake that struck the South Pacific between Samoa and American Samoa around dawn Tuesday did not impact production on the CBS television series “Survivor.”

A spokesperson for the network said no crew members were harmed by the 8.0 quake, which sent large tsunami waves ashore and killed at least 99 people.

The hit reality show, currently in its 19th season, was not filming at the time, the spokesperson said.

The current season of “Survivor: Samoa” debuted earlier this month.
