HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel are now proud parents.
The Hollywood pair welcomed their first child on Wednesday when Menzel gave birth to a baby boy named Walker Nathaniel Diggs.
“Mother, father and son are all doing well,” said the couple’s reps in a joint statement.
The pregnancy was first announced in March.
Diggs and Menzel, both 38, tied the knot in 2003. They first met in 1995 when they co-starred in the original Broadway production of “Rent.”
Menzel previously told Us Weekly that Diggs has long wanted to become a father.
“He wouldn’t talk about marriage, but he’d talk about me having his children,” she said. “He’s always wanted kids. He grew up with four younger brothers and sisters, so he’s very comfortable around children.”
