At the Las Vegas ceremony, the 18-year-old singer performed her hit tune “Should’ve Said No.” She first appeared on stage in a hooded sweatshirt and jeans, but had her clothes torn away mid-song to reveal a sexy black dress. Her performance ended under a barrage of water pouring down onto her from the ceiling.

“I’ve never had more fun onstage,” Swift confessed Monday in a MySpace blog.

“I’ve dreamt about that performance since I was in middle school,” the young star continued. “I’ve always wanted to perform an angry song and have water rain down from the ceiling and have a little freakout onstage.”

“Oh, and the water was like 40 degrees. So cold,” she added.

Swift, who took home top new female vocalist honors at the 43rd annual ceremony, said she wasn’t expecting a prize beyond her dream performance.

“Honestly I didn’t expect to come away with an award, and I have you to thank for all of the things you’ve done to support me, she wrote. “You’re the reason my album is 3x platinum. You’re the reason the concerts sell out. You’re the reason I’m able to be out here in Vegas.”

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she added.

Swift said some one of her own personal highlights was seeing Heidi Newfeild, who “sings one of my favorite songs out right now ‘Johnny and June.'” She also praised her recent touring partner George Strait and gave kudos to actress Nicole Kidman.

Said Swift: “Nicole Kidman is so incredibly gracious and friendly, and gets the ‘Most Beautiful in Person’ award. Hands down.”
