HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Orlando Brown, who starred on the Disney Channel series “That’s So Raven,” resurfaced Wednesday after his publicist reported him missing.
The 20-year-old star disappeared Tuesday morning after leaving his manager’s house to walk to a nearby 7-Eleven store in Studio City, Calif. His disappearance led to his publicist, Elayne Rivers, reaching out for help to discover his whereabouts.
“It was wrong for me not to inform my manager … about my whereabouts, especially when I am usually so routine and big on communication, but I felt a little lost and needed to get away,” Brown said in a statement that was released through Rivers, according to the Associated Press.
Brown said he became upset when a nightclub performance that he was looking forward to in Los Angeles was suddenly cancelled.
“I felt that that was my chance to prove that I was talented and I was really excited,” he said. “When I was told that I couldn’t perform… that really hurt. … It got a bit overwhelming and I needed to be alone.”
The young star, who also apologized to his fans and thanked them for their support, made his acting debut when he appeared in the 1995 film “Major Payne.” He later rose to fame when he starred as Eddie Thomas on “That’s So Raven,” which aired from 2003-07.
In addition to working on his music career, Brown currently has a “Raven” spin-off, tentatively titled “The Orlando Brown Show,” in the works.
