LOS ANGELES — After 22 years on the air, “The Bold and the Beautiful” finally won best drama series at Sunday night’s Daytime Emmy Awards.
Another breakthrough win came when the ladies of “The View” — Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd and Barbara Walters — ended Ellen DeGeneres’ four-year reign as best talk show host.
“Rachael Ray” and “The Tyra Banks Show” also emerged victorious in the talk show categories.
The top acting prizes went to Christian LeBlanc of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” and Susan Haskell of ABC’s “One Life To Live.”
“Ugly Betty” co-star Vanessa Williams hosted the 36th annual event, which was held at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.
