‘The Roommate’ Moves Into Weekend Box Office Title

The Roommate, Leighton Meester, Minka Kelly, movie, box, office, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, new, 2010HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The Roommate moved into the top spot at the weekend box office with a $15.6 million debut, according to studio estimates released Sunday.

The psychological thriller, starring Leighton Meester as a psycho freshman who becomes obsessed with her new roomie (Minka Kelly), managed to outlast James Cameron’s 3-D adventure Sanctum, which premiered in second place with a weak $9.2 million.

Coming in third place at $8.4 million was the Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher romantic comedy No Strings Attached.

Oscar favorite The King’s Speech finished fourth with sales of $8.3 million, while The Green Hornet came in at No. 5 with sales of $6.1 million.
