HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Timbaland was honored by Verizon Wireless and People magazine Friday night, but the superstar producer wasn’t entirely thrilled.
At a party to celebrity Timbaland’s new deal with Verizon Wireless to make the first “mobile album,” the 36-year-old addressed the crowd at the Avalon Club with his disappointment just after finishing a high-energy set with Missy Elliott.
“Next time I have one of my homeboys in line, let that (expletive) in!” Timbaland shouted out. “I don’t like to go outside and see my fans get turned down for some bulls–t magazine. F–k this!”
The star-filled event included the likes of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, with additional music performances by Chris Cornell, Taylor Swift, Paramore and One Republic.
Other stars in attendance included “Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus, who danced barefoot in front of the stage, as well as Mario Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Leighton Meester, Pink, Ludacris, Jordin Sparks, will.i.am and Fergie.
Timbaland’s new agreement will be exclusively available to subscribers of V Cast, Verizon’s mobile entertainment service. As the mobile carrier’s producer in residence, Timbaland will produce one song per month throughout 2008. Each month, he will be working with a different artist on a track as he tours the country on the Verizon Mobile Recording Studio Bus.
