HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Katy Perry has been bounced from Sesame Street after her risqué attire upset the legendary children show’s audience.
The 25-year-old pop star recently filmed a segment with Elmo for the program, in which she wore a gold bustier top while singing a duet of her hit "Hot N Cold." But Perry’s cleavage caused parents to voice their displeasure after the clip appeared online.
"We value our viewers’ opinions and particularly those of parents," a spokesperson for the show said in a statement. "In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video … we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street."
Perry has since spoken out about the controversy on her Twitter page.
"Wow, looks like my play date with Elmo has been cut short!" she said. "If you still wanna play see it at www.katyperry.com. Tag you’re it, Elmo!"
