Video: ‘Larry King Live’ Jon Gosselin Interview

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jon Gosselin paid a visit to “Larry King Live” on Thursday as he attempted to explain his reasoning for putting the brakes on his estranged wife’s rebranded reality show, “Kate Plus 8.”

Earlier this week, Gosselin’s attorney, Mark J. Heller, fired off a pair of letters threatening legal action against TLC, one of which argued that the network could no longer film his children. The legal threat came on the heels of the network revealing plans to lessen Gosselin’s camera time and change the title of the reality show that made him a household name. Gosselin said his actions weren’t out of spite, but rather an attempt to protect his family after he and Kate announced their split in June.

“The reason I don’t think it’s healthy for them is that we’re going through a divorce right now, and I don’t think it should be televised and I think my kids should be taken off the show,” he told King.

Heller explained that his client failed to do the proper due diligence when he first signed on for “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”

“He had no manager, he had no lawyer, he had no idea what he was signing,” said Heller.
