Video: ‘SNL’ and Jennifer Lopez ‘We Are the World’ Skit

NEW YORK — SNL gave Jennifer Lopez a fast start to her hosting gig over the weekend, opening the show with a hilarious “We Are the World” skit.

The 40-year-old Lopez channeled her inner Rihanna in a parody of the song’s remake, which was made in an effort to raise funds for victims of January’s devastating earthquake in Haiti.

“Recently the music world came together to release ‘We Are the World 2,’ a song to raise awareness of the Haiti earthquake disaster… sadly, the song itself was a disaster,” quipped SNL star Kenan Thompson as Quincy Jones.

“This new version was a sloppy mess of half-famous randos,” he added.

Other stars in the remake who were mocked by SNL included Gwen Stefani, Shakira and Adam Lambert.

Lopez was hosting SNL for the first time in 10 years.
