‘When in Rome’ Movie Preview

When in RomeHOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel team up on the big screen this weekend in Disney’s new romantic comedy When in Rome.

Bell stars as an ambitious young New Yorker named Beth who is disillusioned with romance. On a whirlwind trip to Rome, she defiantly plucks magic coins from a fountain of love, inexplicably igniting the passion of those who threw them in: Danny DeVito stars as a sausage magnate, Jon Heder is a street magician, Will Arnett plays an adoring painter, and Dax Shepard steps in as a self-admiring model. But when a charming reporter named Nick (Duhamel) pursues Beth with equal zest, she’s not sure if his love is the real thing.

The film also stars Oscar winner Anjelica Huston, Alexis Dziena, Peggy Lipton and Luca Calvani.

“Beth is a ‘gallerina,’ which is a term I’ve learned for young women who run any sort of gallery,” Bell says of her character, who works as a curator at the Guggenheim Museum in Manhattan. “It’s sort of a high-pressure job, which is why she’s always so frazzled.”

“I would say Nick and Beth have the same outlook on life,” add Duhamel. “Both of them are very driven in their given professions and neither is really looking for love. It’s one of those things, I guess, you usually find it when you’re not looking.”
