HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Nothing like a good old fashioned catfight to drum up some publicity for a new reality show.
Michaele Salahi, the infamous White House party crasher, got into a heated exchange with Whoopi Goldberg Wednesday when she dropped by The View with her fellow cast members from the Real Housewives of D.C. Salahi was being interviewed by Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd when Goldberg walked out from backstage, touched her on the arm and said, "Excuse me, can you get back to the White House."
What later followed backstage depends on who you believe. Goldberg claims Salahi told others she hit her, while the reality star denies ever making such an accusation.
"I was in the back, and Whoopi came into the room and said, ‘Eff this, eff that, did you say I effing hit you?’ " Salahi recalled Thursday on NBC’s Today Show. "I said, ‘Bring me the person, Whoopi, I never said you hit me.’ I started crying because now I have someone that I don’t even know, I’m a guest on her show, and they’re berating me with ‘Eff this.’ "
Salahi continued: "At the end, [Goldberg] said, ‘You have to know me, I just say eff this, I don’t mean it. I just say eff you, but I didn’t mean that. You understand that.’
[But] I don’t know her personality," Salahi added. "I know her from the movie Sister Act, so I don’t expect that sister to be saying ‘Eff you.’ "
Goldberg admitted Thursday that she went off on Salahi, but she insisted there was nothing to apologize for.
"Afterward, Michaele was very upset about what was said about her on the air," she explained on The View. "Then I was told she thought I hit her. So I went up to her and I told her that she knew I didn’t hit her. And, yeah," added Goldberg, "You know how I said it — choice words."
