NEW YORK — A New York fitness model who had a "very friendly relationship" with Peter Cook is upset that she's been called to testify in his divorce battle with Christie Brinkley.
Carri Lyn Ciamarra, a 31-year-old fitness model, says she and Cook first started talking in February 2007 after meeting in New York City. Her attorney, Anthony Mangone, confirmed the pair remained "friendly" until August 2007, but would not elaborate on the nature of the relationship, particularly since it developed after Brinkley and Cook were already legally separated.
"She's a private citizen, and it's not fair to explain what type of relationship it was," Mangone told People magazine, while voicing his displeasure over his client being called in to testify.
Brinkley and Cook announced their split in July 2006 after 10 years of marriage. They have one child together, daughter Sailor, who turns 10 on July 2.
The former couple's marriage ended after Cook, a 49-year-old architect, admitted to carrying on a year-long affair with his then 18-year-old assistant, Diana Bianchi.
In June, Long Island Judge Mark D. Cohen ruled that the details of the divorce case would be made public, just as Brinkley had wished. Among the possible claims against Cook are that he surfed the Web looking for women on swingers sites, in addition to look at porn, a source told Access Hollywood last month.
On Wednesday, a court source told Access that Cook allegedly posted nude photos of himself on online swingers sites. His attorney immediately denied the claim, telling the entertainment program the story is "not true."
Either way, with the divorce trial set to begin Wednesday, it's likely they'll be plenty of testimony forthcoming that will shed further insight on the many storylines involved, including testimony from several parties with no desire to be involved.
"This is nothing more than a jilted woman trying to ruin someone else's family," Mangone said of the 54-year-old supermodel's wishes to expose Cook. "We feel [Carri Lyn's] testimony is unnecessary and irrelevant to the current proceedings."
"They might expect her to sit and cower in the courtroom," he added of his client, who is now married and has a young son. "She's not going to sit down and die for these people, and it's a shame she's being dragged into this mess."
