HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — A 33-year-old woman was charged Wednesday for continuing to stalk actor John Cusack.
Emily Leatherman was arrested Sunday near Cusack’s Malibu home, despite the actor obtaining a restraining order against her in 2006.
In addition to stalking, Leatherman was also charged with misdemeanor counts of petty theft and disobeying a restraining order.
She faces a maximum of three years in prison if convicted.
Cusack said Leatherman “is showing unusual interest by stalking, throwing long letters of interest over my fence in bags with rocks and screwdrivers inside, making unannounced visits to offices of people I work with in an attempt to meet with me and listing my address as her own during a recent arrest,” according to court papers, reports AP.
Cusack, 42, rose to fame in the 1980s behing several films including “Class,” “Sixteen Candles,” “Stand by Me” and “Say Anything.”
