LOS ANGELES — The stars stepped out on both coasts Saturday night for the 2010 Writers Guild Awards.
“The Hurt Locker” won best original screenplay honors for writer Mark Boal, while “Up in the Air,” based upon the novel by Walter Kirn, earned the adapted-screenplay award for writer-director Jason Reitman and co-writer Sheldon Turner.
The Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) and the Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) announced the winners for outstanding achievement in writing for screen, television, radio, news, promotional and videogame writing at simultaneous ceremonies held at the Hudson Theatre at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York City and the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
