HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Zac Efron was hospitalized on Tuesday for an appendectomy, according to TMZ.
The 20-year-old star of Disney’s “High School Musical” was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for the surgery.
“Zac had his appendix removed and is recuperating,” his rep tells People.
On Monday, it was announced that Efron and his fellow castmates had signed on for a third and final installment of the Disney franchise, a feature film titled “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.”
Efron is currently shooting the feature film “Seventeen” with Matthew Perry.
