HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Carrie Underwood is the latest "American Idol" star coming to the small screen this holiday season.
The 26-year-old singer will star in a two-hour variety special on Fox this December, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
On the show, Underwood will perform previous hits, holiday classics and songs from her forthcoming album, "Play On," which is scheduled to drop on Nov. 3. She will also participate in various comedy bits and be joined by musical guests that will include Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton and fellow "Idol" alum David Cook, the trade paper says.
The program, which is tentatively titled "Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special," will air on Dec. 7.
Underwood's special will be executive produced by "Idol" creator Simon Fuller, with assistance from "So You Think You Can Dance's" Adam Shankman and Nigel Lythgoe.
Earlier this month, fellow "Idol" star Jennifer Hudson signed on for an hour-long ABC primetime music special titled, "Jennifer Hudson: I'll Be Home for Christmas."
