HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jesse James says he learned a hard lesson by admittedly cheating on his soon-to-be ex-wife, Sandra Bullock.
"I took a pretty amazing life and marriage ... and threw it away by my own hands," the 41-year-old reality star says in a promo clip of his interview with ABC News' Nightline, scheduled to air Tuesday night.
In his first interview since the breakup of the couple's marriage, James opens up about his past, his time in rehab and what made him cheat on his Oscar-winning wife.
When interviewer Vicki Mabrey mentions that the headlines refer to James as the most hated man in America, the Monster Garage star interjects: "I think it's most hated man in the world now."
Mabrey also puts James on the spot by pointing out: "This was a woman who stood on stage and told the world, I never knew what it was like for someone to have my back until you."
At one point, James is so overcome with emotion that he walks away from the interview.
