HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Sandra Bullock will attend the upcoming MTV Movie Awards, where she'll receive the network's Generation Award, organizers announced Wednesday.
"Sandra is one of those rare individuals who is adored by our audience as both an actress and a role model," said Stephen Friedman, general manager of MTV. "Recognizing her remarkable talent, amazing range of films and her visceral connection to our audience around the globe, we are honored to present her with our MTV Generation Award."
Bullock, 45, is the first woman to receive the honor, whose past recipients include Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey.
Two of her films, The Blind Side and The Proposal, are also up for awards at this year's ceremony.
The Hangover leads this year's field of contenders with six nominations, followed by five each for Avatar and New Moon. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be on hand to present an exclusive clip from Eclipse. On the music side, Christina Aguilera will perform a song from her new album, Bionic, while Katy Perry will take the stage for a rendition of her summer anthem "California Gurls." Confirmed presenters include Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Zac Efron, Jonah Hill, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Steve Carell, Miranda Cosgrove, Shaun White, Vanessa Hudgens, Sean "Diddy" Combs, the cast of The Grown Ups (Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider), Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Anna Kendrick, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Aubrey Plaza.
The 2010 MTV Movie Awards, hosted by Aziz Ansari, will air live from Universal City, Calif. on June 6, at 9 p.m. ET.
