NEW YORK — New bride Carrie Underwood says nothing has changed since she married hockey beau Mike Fisher earlier this month in a southern wedding.
"[Married life] is a lot like dating life, actually," the 27-year-old singer told Matt Lauer when she dropped by Friday's Today Show. "My husband's working with kids at his hockey school, and I'm here!"
Underwood and Fisher tied the knot on July 10 in a lavish wedding ceremony held at the Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga. They'll have little time to enjoy their wedding bliss — Underwood begins a 45-city concert tour on Sept. 25 and Fisher is prepping for another NHL season that kicks off in October.
"It's good; we're both very busy people and understand each other's lives," said Underwood, who performed hits like "Undo It" and "Cowboy Casanova" during her appearance. "So we're OK with it."
As for the musical chairs happening on the show that turned her into a star, Underwood said she knows "nothing" about who the next American Idol judges' might be.
"The whole world of music is so vast and there are so many people that have been talked about," she said. "You never know what's going to happen. It obviously keeps you guessing, because everybody's buzzing about it. We'll see."
