NEW YORK — John McCain finally made his appearance on the "Late Show with David Letterman" Thursday night, several weeks after a last-minute cancellation sent the host into a tizzy.
Letterman wasted little time jumping into what went wrong, which prompted the Republican presidential nominee to simply say, "I screwed up."
When the duo finally got around to talking about Wednesday night's presidential debate, McCain painted a dim future for the talk-show host.
"It's not the time to raise anybody's taxes - except yours," he told Letterman. "I guarantee you if I become president, I'll do it. First executive order."
