LONDON — Sienna Miller has filed a lawsuit against two British tabloids and a photo agency, accusing them of violating her privacy by publishing content related to her reported romance with actor Balthazar Getty.
According to London's The Guardian, Miller's legal team, Carter-Ruck, served breach-of-privacy papers to News of the World, The Sun and the photo agency Big Pictures, which snapped topless photos of Miller as she vacationed with Getty in Italy. The candid pictures set off a chain reaction in the tabloids, since Getty is married and has four children.
Getty's wife, Rosetta, was said to be "humiliated" by the alleged affair, and earlier this week, the 33-year-old actor issued a statement, confirming that he and his wife of eight years have separated.
"The breakdown of a marriage is a very difficult and painful experience especially when children are involved," the "Brothers & Sisters" star said in the statement, which was released Monday. "In light of the fact that many pictures have surfaced in print and on the Internet which has caused myself and my family great embarrassment, I felt it necessary to at least acknowledge publicly that yes indeed my wife and I have separated and I will not be commenting any further."
Miller, 26, has been down this path before, having sued both newspapers last year after they ran shots of her filming a nude scene for her upcoming movie "Hippie Hippie Shake." That invasion of privacy suit led to the actress receiving $75,000 from both organizations in December.
