It’s been four long years since Allison Williams first introduced the world to Hannah Horvath’s best friend Marnie and proceeded to alternately entertain and infuriate fans with her blind optimism, too real for comfort singing career, and on-again, off-again twee romance with her bandmate. But now that the show is coming to an end, the actress can finally let go of the role, as well as that role’s hairstyle. A celebration that’s likely the cause behind this freshly shorn set of bangs.
Last last night, Williams posted this selfie to her Instagram account along with a caption that read, “It’s 3:20 am and @mrchrismcmillan just banged me ‼️” Nothing like staying up until the wee hours of the night to convince you that a total hair transformation might be well overdue.

Although this late-night cut was surely meant as an act of defiance against the almost half-decade the actress spent sporting Marnie’s simple, wavy locks, given her Girls character’s new hipster boho band vibes, we can’t help but feel like a fresh Jane Birkin-inspired style would be right up her alley.
What do you think of Allison Williams’ Bangs? Do you like her better with or without them?
