David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell Break Up

David CookHOLLYWOOD, Calif. — David Cook and Kimberly Caldwell have stopped serenading each other.

The "American Idol" pair have broken up, a rep for Caldwell confirmed to In Touch Weekly.

"Kimberly and David ended their relationship just before the holidays," said the rep. "The couple remain good friends and being very private people, appreciate their pKimberly Caldwellrivacy at this time."

Cook and Caldwell, both 26, started dating last spring. Their romance began after Cook asked Caldwell out while she interviewed for the TV Guide Network, soon after he won "Idol's" seventh season.

Caldwell appeared on the second season of "Idol," where she finished seventh on the hit Fox reality show.
