Corbin Bleu pitches in at the Los Angeles Mission and Anne Douglas Center's Thanksgiving Meal for the Homeless on November 25, 2009 in Los Angeles, California.
The Los Angeles Mission's women's outreach and rehabilitation program was named the Anne Douglas Center in recognition of Mrs. Kirk Douglas's long-standing compassionate generosity to the homeless. Mrs. Douglas has said, "If I had but one wish, I think becoming a recognized patron of homeless men and women would be it. I hope together we will be able to alleviate their plight entirely." In recognition of her efforts for the homeless, Mrs. Douglas received the "Woman of the Year" award from Friendly House, the oldest women's recovery program in the United States.
