Adam Lambert was presented with the Equality Idol Award for being an exemplary role model for the LGBT community, while Facebook received the Equality Advocate Award for its work in changing the landscape of social media online, including its standout work with LGBT youth.

"We're thrilled to honor Adam Lambert and Facebook whose work has been a catalyst for social change and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality," said Roland Palencia, Equality California's new executive director. "Their courage and leadership in entertainment and social media have helped Californians become more supportive of LGBT rights."
