VIENNA — An Austrian woman who threatened actor David Caruso is headed to jail.
The early 40s woman, previously identified by Mexican media reports as Heidimarie Schnitzer, was sentenced Tuesday to seven months in jail in a secure psychiatric unit, according to The Associated Press.
She is expected to appeal the ruling, which was handed down in an Innsbruck court.
Schnitzer was previously charged with stalking and threatening to kill the 53-year-old Caruso, but failed to show up for court in 2007. In February, she was tracked down in Mexico with the help of a blog called The Stalker Chronicles, a site dedicated to finding her.
She allegedly sent Caruso a death threat in 2007 after the actor failed to respond to more than 100 letters and her requests for an autograph.
The court ruling comes less than a week after Caruso was slapped with a lawsuit by former girlfriend Liza Marquez. Marquez claims the "CSI: Miami" star skipped out on several promises to care for her even after their relationship ended in 2007.
