WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court won't get involved in a fight between Eminem's former production company and Universal Music Group over downloads of the rapper's songs and ringtones.
The high court on Monday refused to hear an appeal from Universal Music Group.
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Eminem and Lady Antebellum each picked up five nominations to lead the field of contenders for the 2010 American Music Awards, organizers announced Tuesday.
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Eminem's duet with Rihanna, "Love the Way You Lie," finally has a music video to go along with the song's No. 1 ranking on the charts.
The rapper's "Not Afraid" music video premiered Saturday on Vevo. The single is the first song from Eminem's highly anticipated new album Recovery, which drops on June 22.
"Not Afraid" shows a different side of the rapper, whose often fiery lyrics have ruffled more than a few feathers during the course of his career.
"I'm not afraid to take a stand / everybody, come take my hand / we'll walk this road together, through the storm / whatever weather... you're not alone / holler if you feel that you been down the same road," Eminem sings on the hook.
More positive lyrics follow in the bridge as Em sings, "I just can't keep living this way, so starting today I'm breaking out of this cage / I'm standing up, Imma face my demons / I'm manning up, Imma hold my ground / I've had enough, now I'm so fed up / time to put my life together right now."
"I'm raising the bar, Imma shoot for the moon / But I'm too busy gazing at stars, I feel amazing and I'm not afraid," he raps at the song's conclusion.
Recovery, the rapper's seventh major studio album, features several first-time collaborators, including DJ Khalil, Just Blaze, Jim Jonsin and Boi-1da, among others. It is a follow up to his 2009 release, Relapse.
"I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year," Eminem previously said. "But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album. The music on Recovery came out very different from Relapse, and I think it deserves its own title."

LOS ANGELES — Eminem has debuted his new single "Not Afraid," a track that shows the artist making a musical change for the positive.
The track leaked early Thursday on the Web, just before the 37-year-old rapper was scheduled to debut it on the Shade 45 Sirius Satellite radio show, "The Morning After With Angela Yee."

LOS ANGELES — Elton John is still lending his support to Eminem as the controversial rapper attempts to beat a drug addiction.
"I've been helping Eminem over the last 18 months and he's doing brilliantly," the 62-year-old John shared in an interview with BBC Radio's Danny Baker.
In May, Eminem confessed to The Sun that he reached out to John as he sought to overcome his addiction to several prescription drugs, including the heroin substitute methadone. The unlikely pair first hit it off when they performed together at the 2001 Grammys.
"I talk to Elton a lot," said Eminem. "He had a substance-abuse problem in the past. So when I first wanted to get sober, I called him, because he's somebody in the business... who can relate to the lifestyle and how hectic things can be."
"He understands, like, the pressure and any other reasons that you wanna come up with for doing drugs," he continued. "So I told him, 'Look, I’m going through a problem, and I need your advice.' "
John, who admitted his own drug problems made him "arrogant" and "cocky," said he was happy to lend his support to Eminem knowing full well that the 37-year-old rapper is dedicated to getting well.
"I'm there if people want my help," said John. "If people ask for help you tell them where to go but there's no point advising people if they don't want to do it."
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Eminem is dissing Mariah Carey again.
The 36-year-old rapper debuted a new song Thursday titled "The Warning," in which he continues an ongoing feud that began earlier this year with his track "Bagpipes From Baghdad."
