HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Katharine McPhee won't have to stray too far for her television acting debut.
The 24-year-old McPhee will guest star as a singer on an April episode of "CSI: NY," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
McPhee, who finished as the runner-up on the fifth season of "American Idol," previously appeared as herself on a 2007 episode of ABC's "Ugly Betty."
Last year, the California native starred in big-screen comedy "The House Bunny." She has several upcoming films already lined up, including the indie film "The Storyteller," alongside America Olivo and Anita Briem, and the romantic comedy "Wedlocked," which co-stars Dave Annable.
Last February, McPhee married Nick Cokas at a Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church. Fellow season five "Idol" contestant Kellie Pickler was a bridesmaid and guests included Rumer Willis, her "House Bunny" co-star.
