HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Actress Michelle Williams is putting her career on hold.
The 27-year-old star was scheduled to begin work on her new movie, "Blue Valentine," but filming has been postponed following the death of Heath Ledger, who was found dead in his Manhattan apartment last week. Production on the film was expected to begin on Feb. 25, but has been postponed indefinitely, producers confirmed to E! News Tuesday.
Ledger and Williams were engaged at one point, but broke off their relationship in 2007. The couple had a daughter during their three-year relationship, 2-year-old Matilda. They met on the set of "Brokeback Mountain," in which Ledger was nominated for an Oscar.
Williams and her daughter attended a private memorial for the 28-year-old actor last weekend in Los Angeles.
Last Wednesday, a New York City medical examiner ruled Ledger's initial autopsy was inconclusive. Results from additional tests to determine the cause of death are expected within the next two weeks.
A private funeral service for Ledger is expected to take place this week in the late actor's hometown of Perth, Australia.
