HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Steven Tyler and Aerosmith have apparently kissed and made up.
The legendary rockers will reunite this summer in Europe, beginning with a headlining gig at the Sweden Rock Festival on June 10 in Solvesborg.
"The Swedish audience is like no other. We are all very excited about this," said Tyler in a message posted on the festival's Web site.
"This will be our first gig on our European tour," added lead guitarist Joe Perry. "We can hardly wait until we can kick start our tour in Sweden, and I am confident that it will be great!"
Aerosmith will also be one of the headliners at this year's Download Festival in Leicestershire, England. It will be the band's first appearance at Donning Park since the 1994 Monsters of Rock Festival.
"In the early days of Aerosmith we were infected with the vibe coming out of the UK with the Yardbirds, Blues Breakers, Pretty Things and the Stones and we wanted what they had bad. So baby, we're coming home," said Tyler in announcing the band's June 13 appearance. "Rock & Roll can be pure sex and we can't wait to Download..."
Aerosmith endured an injury-plagued summer tour last year that saw three different band members get hospitalized, including Tyler, who famously fell off the stage during an August concert in South Dakota. The band then spent the next six months feuding openly in the media, with threats to replace Tyler, who eventually entered rehab for a pain killer addiction.
