HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — David Hasselhoff has quit America's Got Talent in order to pursue a new show.
"I am proud that I was part of making America’s Got Talent the No. 1 rated show for the past four summers," the 57-year-old star told People. "It's been a rewarding experience and now I'm thrilled to be able to follow my dream to do my own TV show, which will be announced very shortly."
The former Baywatch star, who appeared alongside fellow judges Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne for four seasons, did not reveal any additional details about his upcoming project.
Sources told the mag that NBC plans to fill Hasselhoff's seat when the fifth season rolls around this summer.
"David's been an integral part of the success of America’s Got Talent and we are sad to see him go," the network said in a statement. "We wish him all the best with his new show."
